Facilities Engineering Manager

Playmobil is a leading global supplier of quality toys manufactured through highly technical processes. Playmobil Malta Ltd. is one of the most important plants within the Group. It is one of the largest employers on the island and in Hal Far Playmobil also operates a FunPark.

We are seeking to recruit a Facilities Engineering Manager, with adequate technical knowledge and experience, to lead the Facilities Engineering team and oversee the management systems relating to Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) both for the plant as well as the FunPark.

This is a career opportunity for a recently qualified/ warranted engineer seeking an occasion to apply engineering expertise within a leadership role so as to contribute towards overall business efficiency.

Amongst others, the selected candidate will be:

• Overseeing the ongoing operation, including through applicable maintenance routines, of equipment including HVACs, Process Cooling Systems and elevators;

• Implementing engineering best practice solutions, where relevant through the sourcing and commissioning of relevant equipment, whilst embracing a culture of continuous improvement and Lean;

• Managing a training implementation plan for relevant skills;

• Driving, where applicable also by simplifying/ improving on, the HSSE management systems including through auditing of the obligations of others outside of the Facilities Engineering Department;

• Providing timely support to production departments on specific equipment, including through supervision and by leading fault-finding approaches where needed.

Ideal candidates would:

• Have a qualification in Engineering recognized by the Malta Engineering Board for the attainment of the warrant. Those already so warranted are preferred;

• Be able to communicate fluently in English and Maltese. A qualification at MQF level 3, or higher, in both languages is needed. Proficiency in another European language is desired;

• Have relevant work experience including on technical fault finding and with exposure to leading others;

• Have had exposure to developed workplace HSSE management systems;

• Demonstrate a continual improvement approach both regarding the workplace through specific approaches as well as for personal development including through further studies.
