Playmobil is looking to recruit a Continuous Improvement Manager who will form an integral part of the PML management team but with strong links to the relevant contacts within the Group’s Global Supply Chain Network (GSCN) as well as relevant suppliers including subcontractors. The Continuous Improvement (CI) Department is responsible for spearheading a culture wherein improvement becomes a continual way of life within the Company, and where applicable its sub-contractors.
The main responsibilities will be as follows:
Supporting, and taking to the next level, the notion of CI including OpEx, also by recommending and developing improvements where this is called for
Developing and measuring standards for business processes with an aim to get staff to identify and prioritise improvement opportunities
Co-ordinating, and where applicable managing, the implementation of improvement activities and then monitoring, or where applicable managing, and reporting on the progress of business improvement projects
Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders in order to create sustainable improvements along the entire supply chain
Utilising, and training / influencing others to utilize, a variety of business improvement tools and techniques/approaches including those related to problem-solving
Creating an infrastructure that supports a culture so that progress is maintained on an ongoing basis
Creating and implementing applicable training and staff development programmes/workshops in relation to relevant tools, methodologies and practices
Creating/collaborating/instigating cross-functional teams to develop data-driven solutions for business improvement
Supporting and where applicable developing applicable audit, corrective action and preventive action plans with an aim to ensure standardization and improvement;
Serving as a ‘go-to expert’ by anyone wishing to benchmark results
Serving as a factual decision-maker in situations where automation/ manual intervention is being evaluated
To serve as the Company’s authority and final decision maker on standards in relation to CI approaches, including Lean, in conjunction with any set by Group. In case of areas where standards are still to be determined to recommend standards to senior management outlining the advantages and disadvantages of different options
To partake in any reasonable activity completing the status, qualification and experience of the job holder that the CEO might deem necessary including within other areas of Playmobil.
Education Skills and Experience:
A relevant qualification in the higher MQF levels will be preferred
Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma and Value Stream Mapping is required with any certification in any of the OpEx-related tools (including these 3 disciplines) will be considered an asset
Experience in a similar role including proven CI analytical experience
Good project management skills
The art of persuasiveness, collaboration and teamwork with teambuilding abilities
Ability to set up, facilitate and lead improvement/ ‘Work Out’ sessions with a range of business stakeholders
An inclination to keep abreast of developments in the manufacturing equipment field in relation to industries similar to those in which Playmobil operates in
Good influencing, interpersonal and leadership skills with people management experience in a unionized setting
Good report writing and presentation skills.
