About Department:

The Finance function oversees and manages the finances of the Authority, supporting the various other functions within the Authority in all financial matters, including the preparation of timely management information, revenue collection, payments to suppliers and service providers, payroll and financial control and budgetary control. The function also sets, monitors and improves the operation of the MFSA's financial control framework, ensuring compliance with established policies and controls. It co-ordinates with the Statutory Auditors on the annual audit of the Authority's Financial Statements drawn up in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards and is also responsible for the timely submission of required statutorily financial information to Parliament.

About the Role:

You will be working closely with a diverse and skilled team where you will have the opportunity to grow professionally in a fast-paced finance environment. 

You will be responsible for supporting in the following areas:- 

  • Posting of Supplier Payments, Travelling Allowances and Journals, on Sage accounting system;
  • Reconciling Supplier Statements with Sage;
  • Chasing for Fiscal Receipts and compiling the Defaulters’ List on a timely basis;
  • Supporting and assisting the Operations Team, such as preparing Purchase Requisitions and Confirmation of Services;
  • Updating records with respect to Insurance Claims;
  • Supporting and assisting the Finance Team with respect to the asset tagging exercise;
  • Perform any other related duties that may be assigned by the team from time to time.

About You:

You are a dynamic team player who is energetic and motivated to contribute with creative solutions.

You will have a passion and interest in working in Finance, currently in the stage of obtaining a qualification in the relevant field at National Qualification Framework Level 5 or better, duly certified by the Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC) or a widely recognised professional qualification at a comparable level.

It was established by law on 23 July 2002 taking over supervisory functions previously carried out by the Central Bank of Malta, the Malta Stock Exchange, and the Malta Financial Services Centre. The Authority is a fully autonomous public institution and reports to Parliament on an annual basis.
