Apcopay Limited is seeking to recruit a Site Reliability Engineer, to join its dynamic team.

The Position

Based in Malta and reporting to the Head of Technology, the Site Reliability Engineer will oversee the development and maintenance of our product infrastructure and services. Collaborating with the product development and engineering teams, the Site Reliability Engineer will focus on enhancing our service platform, improving incident response processes, and automating infrastructure tasks to reclaim engineering time.

The Site Reliability Engineer will also be responsible for optimizing server and network infrastructure, tools and processes, providing guidance and training to team members and collaborating with engineering teams to improve pipelines. Responsibilities also include maintaining and enhancing the network, infrastructure and security of the company’s services, offering on-call support, and implementing monitoring systems for networks, server health, and application performance. Additionally, the selected candidate will configure infrastructure for load balancing, application firewalls, reverse proxying, and related services, whilst creating and enforcing security policies to protect the company and its’ customers.

The Site Reliability Engineer will be dedicated to ensuring our platform delivers high availability and data redundancy, fully meeting user needs and upholding service integrity.

The Company

Apcopay Limited, orchestrated by Synthesis, is a Single Layer Payments Orchestration Platform, that has been supporting merchants since 2004. It provides a unified, all-in-one solution, offering over 40 acquiring banks and 240+ payment options, processing 100 currencies for over 1200 merchants in 25 countries and connecting through a range of payment methods, including options such as Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Union Pay, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.

The Requirements

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of three years’ experience in provisioning, configuring and monitoring cloud infrastructure, preferably on Microsoft Azure. A solid understanding of key tools in this area, such as Terraforn, Azure CLI, and Azure DevOps, is essential, along with a strong foundation in security principles related to software, systems, and networks.

Experience in configuring and provisioning monitoring tools like Application Insights, DataDog, Pingdom, and Grafana is required, as is familiarity with SaaS applications hosted in the cloud and proficiency in at least one modern scripting language.

The role calls for a motivated individual who is passionate about measuring performance and uptime metrics. Strong communication and collaboration skills are necessary to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, along with a willingness to learn and share knowledge. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Microsoft Azure Cloud and Azure DevOps, and technical proficiency in the Systems Engineer discipline.
