Product Development Engineer

Our client is currently seeking to recruit a Product Development Engineer within their Probes Department. Your main responsibilities will be to:

• Build expertise in sensor technologies and product ranges to support product development.
• Assist R&D through product evaluations, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead or coordinate manufacturing improvement projects to enhance quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure products are designed for efficient manufacturing.
• Identify and assess opportunities for product and process optimisation, including technical and cost feasibility.
• Investigate product failures and customer issues to determine root causes and corrective actions.
• Prepare and deliver technical reports for internal teams and headquarters.
• Support product approval, documentation, and release for mass production.
• Coordinate and manage controlled product and process changes.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and manufacturing guidelines.
• Ensure testing equipment is calibrated, maintained, and accurately documented.
• Train production personnel on procedures, standards, and best practices.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of data analysis tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel or similar).
• Exposure to CAD software or other engineering tools.
• Awareness of standard safety procedures, quality requirements, and operational guidelines within manufacturing.
• Good time management and attention to accuracy and detail.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment is an asset.
