Electrical Design Engineer

We are looking for a driven and technically competent Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing company, specializing in Electrical Engineering. This role blends technical design expertise with commercial responsibilities, focusing on electrical systems, Air Conditioning, and Alternative Energy solutions.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing safe, efficient, and compliant systems while supporting business development and maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage client enquiries and provide expert technical advice on electrical systems
• Design and size electrical infrastructure, ensuring compliance with regulations and efficiency standards
• Develop solutions including HVAC electrical systems, solar PV, energy storage, and control systems
• Prepare electrical load calculations, system layouts, and technical proposals
• Produce accurate quotations with detailed electrical specifications
• Participate in tendering processes, including technical and commercial submissions
• Identify and secure new business opportunities
• Build and maintain strong client relationships
• Coordinate with internal teams for smooth project execution
• Monitor project timelines and provide continuous client support
• Ensure timely follow-up on quotations and submissions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• Experience in electrical systems, building services, or renewable energy (preferred)
• Strong knowledge of power distribution, protection systems, and electrical design
• Familiarity with solar PV systems, inverters, and energy management systems is an asset
• Ability to perform load calculations and system sizing
• Knowledge of electrical standards and regulations (e.g., IEC, wiring regulations)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar design tools
• Experience in tendering, BOQs, and bid preparation is highly advantageous
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• Commercial awareness with a results-driven mindset
• Good organizational and time-management skills
