Database Administrator

LEO E-Commerce in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Database Administrator to join their team on a full-time basis.

Main Responsibilities:

• Design and implementation of databases
• PostgreSQL database management and optimization
• Creating advanced SQL queries for efficient data access and modification
• Developing scripts to automate data processing and loading processes using Bash/Python languages
• Monitor and tune database performance to ensure optimal speed
• Securing data creating backup copies and developing backup procedures.

Requirements:

• Ability to create structures in relational databases
• Good knowledge of SQL and practical ability to create advanced queries for PostgreSQL
• Experience in administering Linux systems (Ubuntu)
• Proficient knowledge of Bash or another scripting language (e.g. Python)
• Knowledge of the concepts of virtualization and containerization (Docker, VMware)
• Knowledge of the English language.

Additional advantages:

• Experience in tuning and troubleshooting database performance issues
• Knowledge of Java and Python programming languages
• Knowledge of the Git version control system.
