BI Operations Engineer

Melita Ltd in Malta is currently looking to recruit a BI Operations Engineer to join their team on a full-time basis.

Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Support Engineer to join our Data Engineering team. 

In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and supporting our data pipelines and ensuring the smooth operation of our Microsoft SQL Server-based data warehouse. You will work closely with data engineers and analysts to maintain data quality and provide troubleshooting and incident management support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Monitoring: Oversee data quality and pipeline monitoring to ensure the smooth flow of data from our various data sources to our data warehouse
• Troubleshooting & Incident Management: Handle escalated issues, perform root cause analysis
• Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers and analysts to support data-related projects and initiatives
• On-Call Support: Participate in an on-call support roster to ensure data availability.

Job requirements:

• Strong SQL knowledge
• Experience with ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and basic database management
• Excellent root cause analysis and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively
• Previous experience in a second-level support role or similar environment, with a focus on data engineering or database management systems
