Your role:

As a Support Assistant, you will be responsible for performing a variety of support tasks for a work unit, team, project or manager. Your tasks may include:

  • planning and logistical organisation of events, both online and in-person, as well as providing technical assistance to
  • participants and ensuring complete follow-up of administrative files and related financial aspects;
  • organising business trips, including handling reservations, visas, and expense reimbursements;
  • researching, collecting, presenting, and disseminating various data and statistics;
  • contributing to communication activities, including the online publication of texts and various other products for different
  • audiences as well as the creation, development and updating of websites;
  • managing correspondence, documents and presentations; ensuring their linguistic and grammatical quality, thus
  • guaranteeing professional and effective communication;
  • applying your service orientation skills to respond promptly and effectively to the needs of customers, partners, and other stakeholders.

These tasks may be adapted according to the profile sought or the assigned department.

What we are looking for

You must have:

Academic background and professional experience and expertise:

  • higher education diploma equivalent to at least two years; of study, followed by at least one year of recent professional experience directly related to the nature of the support functions (projects, customer service, communication, data management, or other); in the absence of a higher education diploma, secondary education must be completed and followed by at least two years of recent professional experience directly related to the nature of the support functions;
  • sound IT skills enabling the use of common office applications (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation software and Outlook) with the ability to acquire new IT competencies.

Languages:

  • very good knowledge of English;
  • knowledge of French or the ability to acquire it during the assignment period.
English and French are the two official languages of the Council of Europe.

Other competencies that would be an asset:

  • Professional and technical expertise:

- professional experience in the use of various software, in particular internet/intranet, social network publishing or IT support;

- knowledge and understanding of the Council of Europe's activities.

Nationality:

What we offer:

In Strasbourg, you will receive a basic monthly gross salary of €3 139 (grade B1) or €3 576 (grade B2) which is exempt from national income tax.
