Maintain high quality standards by directing and coordinating all activities and providing assistance to the team members for the Aquarium Front of House team while ensuring that customer needs are exceeded during their visit. 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assure a positive, family-friendly customer service atmosphere.
  • Identify priorities and delegate tasks to front-of-house team members.
  • Ensure that cash handling, register, and shop procedures are maintained.
  • Oversee the daily activities of front-of-house team members.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service by ensuring that service standards are met and that concerns from guests are quickly resolved.
  • Assure that all team members follow the set guidelines.
  • Deliver daily briefings to the team members as required.
  • Lead by example and promote good customer service
  • Keep up-to-date and knowledgeable about all exhibit talks.
  • Work closely with the aquarium back-of-house team.
  • Cover the shifts as required.
  • Assist with regular and ad-hoc stocktaking as required.
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays as required.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED

  • A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, build, and motivate a team.
  • Demonstrated the ability to work effectively in a team-orientated environment.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Good presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Previous retail/customer service experience is strongly preferred.
