Risk Manager

Our client is a leading financial services provider operating in the Insurance sector and is seeking a Risk Manager to lead the risk management function, ensuring compliance to regulatory and industry standards and mitigating existing and potential risks.

The role also involves developing strategies to protect company assets, reputation, and sustainability.

The Role

• Develop and implement a risk management framework aligned with regulations and business objectives. 
• Establish policies and controls to ensure effective risk identification, assessment, and mitigation. 
• Provide regular risk reporting to senior management and the board and the Regulator.
• Oversee the Risk tasks across business units, identifying key risks and mitigation strategies. 
• Ensure compliance with insurance regulations, Solvency II, IFRS 17 etc and liaise with regulatory authorities. 
• Monitor and manage operational risks, including fraud, cyber threats, and business continuity planning. 
• Oversee financial risk management, supporting actuarial and underwriting teams. 
• Foster and embed a strong risk culture across the organisation through training and awareness programs.
• Lead a small team.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Actuarial Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Have experience in risk management within insurance or financial services, with 5+ years in leadership.
• Have strong regulatory compliance, and governance knowledge.
• Have strong experience in insurance risk management, underwriting, claims, and capital adequacy.
• Proficiency in risk analytics, reporting tools, and financial modeling.
• Foster a strong risk culture through training and awareness programs.
• Strategic Thinking, Leadership, Analytical Skills, Stakeholder Engagement, and Regulatory Compliance.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
• Highly developed communication and presentation skills.
• Assertive with proven negotiation skills.
