The Role:
The main purpose of this job is to manage accounts for several global subsidiaries. This will include assisting the Head of Accounting in delivering financial statements, managing relationships with external auditors, and ensuring adherence to group reporting deadlines. Additionally, you will review and approve invoices and expenses, reconcile multi-currency bank accounts, and update fixed assets schedules. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining accurate General Ledgers, staying current with relevant accounting standards, and offering suggestions for internal control improvements and automation. You will support the Head of Accounting with ad hoc tasks and perform specialised reporting for regulated entities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly accounts for companies, following the IFRS principles
  • Provide support on technical accounting issues such as revenue recognition, intangible asset impairment and business acquisitions
  • Support the Head of Accounting with the delivery of the financial statements, managing the relationship with the external auditors, in line with the group reporting deadlines
  • Review and approve invoices and expenses
  • Reconcile multi-currency bank accounts with bank statements
  • Review expenses and adjust for prepayments and accruals
  • Update the fixed assets schedule and post-depreciation/amortisation journals
  • Other Balance Sheet reconciliations including intercompany analysis and recharges
  • Review of sales and purchase ledgers
  • Responsible for General Ledgers
  • Stay up to date with relevant accounting standards, applying group accounting policies and internal control practices
  • Providing advice and suggestions on internal control improvements and automation
  • Support the Head of accounting with ad hoc tasks
  • Ad hoc reporting for regulated entities.


You:

  • At least 3 years experience working in accounts
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Performance and efficiency driven
  • Methodical & excellent problem-solving skills
  • Payments industry experience (not essential)
  • Experience using Oracle Netsuite (desirable)
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level is a must
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Good level of numeracy with close attention to detail
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads & meet deadlines
  • Works well as part of a team
  • Ability to be proactive, good initiative and deliver results
  • Ambition to work in an entrepreneurial environment.
