Financial Controller

A reputable client of ours specialising in the Industrial Goods and Services industry is looking to onboard a Financial Controller to join their team; The designated person will be reporting to the GM and Board of Directors, and responsibilities are as follows:

Duties:

• Lead the accounting team and provide guidance on accounting policies and procedures.
• Coordinate, oversee, and liaise with the various department managers, on the implementation of each department’s yearly budgets and periodical analysis, including cost variances and WIP analysis.
• Deliver financial reports and analysis, including insights and recommendations to senior management and the board of directors
• Oversee all financial operations including budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly management accounts, including balance sheets, income statements, project performance reports and cash flow statements.
• Coordinate with external auditors and other financial professionals as required.
• Oversee and manage cash flow and liquidity, optimising the use of financial resources at hand.
• Participate in the formulation and development of the strategy, policies, and procedures to facilitate the achievement of each department’s objectives.
• Identify and implement strategies to enhance financial efficiency and reduce costs.
• Ensure internal controls are in place and in compliance with all tax regulations and filings.

• Must have a miimum 6 years' experience working in a similar role
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, and ideally in Maltese
• Strong organisational and time management skills

• Must be a fully qualified and locally warranted Acccountant
