Our client, an international Retail client is looking to recruit a Finance Manager to join their team.

Main responsibilities :

  • Lead the day-to-day finance and accounting operations alongside the accounting team.
  • Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of accounting records and financial information.
  • Prepare and coordinate the annual statutory financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
  • Ensure compliance with group accounting policies, financial reporting standards, and internal reporting requirements.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Allocate workloads, prioritize tasks, and ensure deadlines are consistently achieved.
  • Support the professional growth of team members through coaching, training, and knowledge sharing.
  • Maintain and enhance the organization's internal control framework.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and tax filing obligations.
  • Review VAT returns and income tax computations in collaboration with external tax advisors.
  • Manage the annual statutory audit process and coordinate with external auditors.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, consultants, and regulatory authorities as required.
  • Oversee intercompany billing, reconciliations, and related accounting processes across group entities.
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of intercompany balances and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Support group reporting requirements and finance-related initiatives.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analysis for senior management.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.
  • Monitor financial performance, investigate variances, and recommend corrective actions where appropriate.
  • Drive continuous improvement of finance processes, reporting, and internal controls.
  • Participate in cross-functional business improvement initiatives, including ERP system enhancements.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline finance operations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across international locations and cross-functional teams.
  • Support leadership on strategic finance projects and other ad hoc initiatives as required.

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing, mentoring, and developing finance teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with financial reporting and ERP systems is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel internationally when required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Previous audit experience with a Big Four or similar accounting firm is considered an asset.

Education and Experience

  • Fully qualified Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
