Credit Control Manager
A vacancy for the post of a Credit Control Manager has arisen within the Finance team of Simonds Farsons Cisk plc. The selected candidate is responsible for the supervision and mentoring of the Group Credit Control team and ensuring adherence to the policies and procedures.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the selected candidate shall be responsible for:
Managing the team of Credit control for all Group Companies, together with the management of the Reconciliation and Cash office.
Ensuring that all receipts of funds are reconciled and allocated on a daily basis.
Reviewing Credit Applications and Credit references to verify that the credit limits and credit days set by the credit control team are appropriate and in line with Company Policies. Approving Credits in line with Company policies.
Assisting in the formulation of the company’s credit policy to mitigate unnecessary risks.
Reviewing of aged debtors reports on a regular basis and discussing with the respective clerks / officers to ensure effective chasing and a proactive approach to collect the dues as and when due.
Meeting with clients whenever necessary to ensure effective collection of monies due in the best interest of Farsons and its subsidiaries.
Effective liaising with our legal department to pursue legal actions when all negotiations with the clients have been exhausted. Whereas Legal action should be our last resort , we need to ensure that dues do not become statute barred and to take all the necessary legal action to protect the interest of Farsons Group;
Regularly reviewing the processes and procedure to reduce and maintain reasonable debtor days.
The selected candidate/s shall:
have a minimum a 3-year experience in a similar commercial credit control function;
be self-motivated, have leadership skills and capable to work independently under minimal supervision;
have strong computer skills (preferably Microsoft packages);
be a clear and concise communicator both internal and external clients / stakeholders;
be honest and trustworthy with an ability to work under pressure.
