Our client working in the engineering industry is currently looking for an Assistant Finance Manager to be based in their offices in Libya. The selected candidate will work 7 weeks in Libya and have 2 weeks off. 

Duties include:   

  • Organizing and coordinating with finance team the monthly postings, reconciliations inclusive of accruals, prepayments, journal entries and month-end verifications in order to achieve timely deadlines. 
  • Conducting detailed variance analysis and providing commentary on differences. 
  • Assists in the preparation of monthly management accounts including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements. 
  • Assist and report to the Finance Manager, acting as a backup during their absence.
  • Handle invoicing, including review, submission, and client coordination.
  • Manage daily banking, petty cash, and liaising with local authorities.
  • Involved in credit control, payroll management, and monthly financial reporting.
  • Oversee awarded project contracts, ensuring compliance with taxation and insurance requirements.
  •  Build strong relationships within the finance department and with external stakeholders.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Senior Accountant or similar
  • Must be based in Libya or willing to relocate to Libya
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and Arabic will be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of GAAP or IFRS, modern office practices.
