Engineer
We are looking for an Engineer to join our client's team, focused on the construction industry. This position will allow you to perform assignments that will develop professional working knowledge and abilities through the application of applicable codes and standards, as well as engineering calculations and techniques, procedures and criteria.
ABOUT OUR CLIENT:
Our client is a company focused on the construction and manufacture of building materials and is based in Naxxar, Malta.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reviews and coordinates technical documents with/from other engineers and/or technical department
- Develop analytical calculations
- Perform numerical modelling
- Participate in site visits and meetings with project personnel
- Act as a mentor or coach the team
- Analyse and study detailed drawings, specifications, and documents
- Direct the supervision of their own workforce and contractors hired by the company
- Estimate the resource requirements in line with the target programs
- Discuss the objectives, requirements, and budget of a project and specify the nature and quality of materials
- Conduct regular meetings with site supervisors and other contractors to discuss the day’s progress, achievements as well as future works
- Undertake presence on construction site for full-time site inspections and supervision.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Minimum 3 years of extensive practical experience in a similar role in Malta
- Experience in structural design
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Mathcad
- Thorough knowledge of engineering deliverables, such as drawings, specifications, and material requisitions and construction methods for concrete and steel structures
- IT Literate able to use Auto-Cad, experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Microsoft Projects
- Ability to independently execute the detailed design of complex steel and/or concrete structures
- Manage and produce accurate formal reports in accordance with the business timetable
- Multi-tasking, self-motivated, energetic team player with a flexible and adaptable approach to work
- Work well under pressure
- Ability to present ideas effectively, evaluate ideas of others, and possess excellent motivational & leadership skills
- Driving Licence B
- Good command of written and spoken English and Maltese language
- Excellent listening, oral and written communication, planning and organizational skills are essential
- Understands the work processes of other disciplines and departments on projects
- Ability to express technical issues in a clear and concise manner, both written and verbally.
EDUCATION:
A Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering or equivalent with technical background.
WORKING TIME:
Monday to Friday, from 07:00 till 16:00 with one hour break.
