IT Senior Manager

A client of ours, highly specialised in the Insurance sector, is looking to onboard an IT Senior Manager to join their team of professionals. The designated person will be responsible for the fulfilment of the entire IT function, working closely with top Management:

Duties:

• Act as the primary point of contact for outsourced IT service providers, ensuring smooth operation, system availability, and performance monitoring.
• Manage service-level agreements (SLAs) and maintain a productive relationship with the external IT service provider to resolve technical issues and respond to employee requests.
• Develop and implement necessary IT controls to safeguard the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring a secure and resilient IT environment.
• Lead all IT-related efforts to ensure full compliance with the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) by January 2025, working closely with appointed legal advisors and partners for guidance and support, and coordinating with external stakeholders, including vendors and consultants ensuring that all IT systems and processes are in line with DORA requirements
• Monitor cybersecurity threats, identify vulnerabilities, and oversee the response to cyber-attacks and security incidents, ensuring all processes are DORA-compliant.
• Ensure adherence to the company’s IT Policy, including the timely delivery of quarterly reports to the Board.
• Prepare and present regular updates on the performance and risk management of IT systems, aligning with corporate governance standards.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to refine the IT governance framework, ensuring it aligns with both company strategy, goals and regulatory obligations.
• Work closely with the Risk Management Function to develop, implement, and maintain an IT Risk Management Framework, addressing operational risks, cyber threats, and resilience strategies.
• Conduct regular risk assessments of IT systems and third-party providers, ensuring that IT risks are identified, documented, and mitigated in line with DORA guidelines.
• Oversee the design and maintenance of disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure the resilience of IT systems in the event of disruptions.
• Conduct regular testing and updating of contingency plans to ensure compliance with DORA’s operational resilience requirements.

• Proven experience (5+ years) in IT management roles, preferably within the financial services or insurance industry.
• Strong understanding of the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) and experience in managing IT operations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud services, network security, and system monitoring tools; cybersecurity practices, including threat monitoring, incident response, and deployment of security controls;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
• Good relationship building, active listening, needs analysis and advanced analytical skills
• Available to travel overseas for work-related matters when required

• Must be in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. A master’s degree in a relevant field will be considered an asset
• Relevant certifications such as ITIL, CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or equivalent certifications related to IT governance, risk management, and cybersecurity will also be considered a strong asset
