Duties & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Information Technology, the Head of Business Solutions will lead the strategic planning, development, and management of the Bank’s business systems, software development initiatives, data management, and quality assurance processes. This role is critical in ensuring that the Bank’s technology infrastructure supports its business objectives, maintains high standards of data integrity, and delivers robust, efficient, and secure solutions. The Head of Business Solutions will collaborate with various departments to align technology initiatives with business needs and ensure seamless integration and operation of systems across the Bank.

You will be responsible to:

Strategic Leadership

  • Shape and execute the Bank’s business solutions strategy in alignment with overall IT strategy and business objectives.
  •  Drive innovative technology solutions that enhance business performance.
  • Collaborate with senior management to align with business goals.

Systems Management

  • Oversee the management and optimisation of the Bank’s core banking systems and other enterprise applications.
  • Ensure systems are secure, scalable, and  compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the adoption of new systems and technologies.

Software Development

  • Oversee the entire software development life cycle.
  • Promote best practices in software development, including agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD.
  • Ensure that development projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.  

Data Management

  • Oversee the Bank’s data management strategy, including data governance, data quality, data architecture, and data security.
  • Ensure that data is accurate, accessible, and used effectively across the Bank.
  • Collaborate with the analytics team to leverage data for business insights and decision-making.

Quality Assurance:

  • Establish and enforce quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability and performance of the Bank’s technology solutions.
  • Lead the development and implementation of testing strategies, including automated and manual testing.
  • Ensure deliverables meet the Bank’s quality and regulatory  standards.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, including systems analysts, developers, data specialists, and QA engineers.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Develop and manage the budget for the Business Solutions unit.
  • Identify skill gaps of team members and suggest appropriate training to enhance team’s capabilities.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technology solutions.
  • Serve as the key point of contact for business units on technology-related matters.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination between IT and other departments.

Competencies & Experience

The potential candidate should have a positive attitude, be well-organised, with a disposition to learn. The selected candidate has to be meticulous with a team-oriented approach to work.  

You must:

  • possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree is an asset;
  • have at least 10+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a financial institution or similar environment;
  • Have experience in managing enterprise systems, software development, data management, and quality assurance;
  • Possess strong knowledge of banking systems, financial technologies, and regulatory requirements;
  • Have excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills;
  • Have experience with agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and modern software development frameworks.
  • Possess strong analytical and problem solving abilities;
  • Have ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior management; and
  • Have experience in strategic thinking, project management, decision making, stakeholder management and change management.
