A client of ours specialising in the Industrial Goods and Services sector is looking to onboard a Chief Information Officer ( CIO), to join their team of professionals; This role involves overseeing the development and implementation of IT strategies, policies, and systems to support the overall business objectives:

Duties:

  • Develop and execute the organisation's technology strategy, aligning it with the company's overall business goals. This involves identifying opportunities for technology to drive innovation and growth.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the technology department, including IT teams.
  • Ensure that technology teams are well-organized, motivated, and capable of delivering on strategic objectives. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
  • Establish and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance and security.
  • Evaluate and manage IT risks, ensuring effective risk management practices are in place.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of our company’s technology infrastructure. Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of IT systems and networks.
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives to enhance business processes, customer experiences, and overall efficiency. Identify and leverage emerging technologies to gain a competitive advantage.
  • Develop and implement data management strategies to ensure the security, integrity, and availability of organizational data. Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations.
  • Communicate IT strategies, initiatives, and performance to key stakeholders, including executives and board members. Collaborate with other departments to understand and address their technology needs.
  • Lead research and development efforts to innovate and create new technologies or solutions that can give the company a competitive edge.
  • Ensure the security of the organization's data and technology infrastructure.
  • Implement cybersecurity measures to protect against threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and manage the technology budget, making strategic decisions about investments in technology resources and projects.
  • Manage relationships with technology vendors, negotiate contracts, and evaluate third-party solutions and services.
Skill-sets and Requirements
  • A minimum of 6 years prior experience in managing technical teams and projects
  • Have excellent leadership, strategic, analytical and project management skills, also having a proven track record of such
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and ideally in Maltese
  • Broad knowledge of modern software technologies and techniques and able to understand issues and challenge staff where required
  • A proven track record of leading change and delivering results through IT in a business environment.
Education & Experience
  • A recognised qualification in information technology or a related subject. Post-graduate qualifications in management will be considered an asset.
