Lead Engineer

Innerworks in Malta is looking to recruit a Lead Engineer to join their team on a full-time basis. 

Role Summary:
This candidate will work closely with the CTO & CEO to help establish our new team of engineers in Malta. Although day-to-day work will initially be coding/implementation focused, successful candidates may progress to manage the Global Engineering team. This candidate will have considerable input on our product backlog and will gain constant exposure to the commercial requirements of the venture.

Responsibilities:
We view all members of the team as equals. This means we all have responsibility for the whole process and expect that from all involved. Specifically the participants in this role will:

• Implementation of development sprints;
• Designing & managing development sprints with Product Manager;
• Converting product brainstorms & client feedback into detailed specifications documents;
• Advising CTO on technical architecture decisions.

Our current technology stack:

• Java;
• Mongo DB;
• Vue.js;
• Jelastic / layershift;
• Spring;
• (Currently in transition from Monolith to Microservices architecture);
• AWS.

Required Experience:

• 5+ years of Software Engineering;
• Demonstrated history of managing engineering teams;
• Track record of communicating with non-technical teams;
• JIRA;
• As much of the current tech stack as possible.

Preferable Skills:

• Strong sense of ownership for their role, product, and company;
• Strong methodical approach to workflow;
• Detail-orientated;
• Mathematical and/or logical aptitude;
• Strong verbal communication skills;
• Demonstration of coding skills - Git projects or previous evidence of coding.
