Malta International Airport plc is looking for a dynamic individual who is passionate about working with people within an Airport environment and is willing to continuously learn, develop, and be part of a high-performance culture. This vacancy has arisen within the Information Technology Department.

Purpose of Position:

The ELV Systems Administrator will be working in a dynamic team with particular focus on administering extra low voltage (ELV) systems, specialized airport operations, security equipment, and other electronics communications-based systems in the terminal and airfield.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Designing, monitoring and control of systems related to building services. 
  • Provide system administration tasks on assigned company applications, that may be assigned from time to time.
  • Provide second and third level technical support or escalate support to third parties or vendors as necessary.
  • Keep updated documentation and records related to policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Draft and deliver training packages on applications for both frontline technical support and end users.
  • Draft and provide hand over documents on the installed systems, including schematics and the necessary technical information, such as support manuals and the preventive maintenance procedures and frequencies.
  • Be responsible for keeping applications updated, manage their development roadmaps, and propose improvements.
  • Assist in the system analysis, design and testing of new systems, including both software and hardware architecture, ensuring that such systems are complaint with airport quality standards, best practices, and latest technology.
  • Contractor management, including both managed services contractors on operations and maintenance as well as project implementation.
  • Manage technology projects from design to implementation in collaboration with other Technology sections and departments, attending and coordinating meetings and doing site supervision as necessary.
  • Participate in internal/external audits, liaise with external auditors, implement audit recommendations, and ensure standards are constantly reached and delivered.
  • Keep good relations with suppliers, participate in supplier quality forums, and undergo training on systems as necessary both locally and abroad.
  • Prepare or contribute to annual financial budgets related to ICT;
  • Ensure service excellence in service delivery and help contribute to a Quality Management System.
  • To care for a spotlessly clean environment at MIA premises, especially during project implementation.
  • To actively promote, encourage and participate, in the development of a culture within the department that promotes the company’s values and focuses on the internal and external customers.

Requirements

The Ideal candidate should:

  • Have an Electrical/Electronics Engineering diploma in Extra low voltage systems or equivalent.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years experience in industrial controls systems.
  • Be knowledgeable on networking and system control programming.
  • Have strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Be willing to undergo training on specialized airport systems.
  • Have attention to detail.
  • Have strong data processing and reporting skills.
  • Have experience in engineering documents, drawings, and technical submittals.
