Quantity Surveyor

Ably Resources Limited in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join their client's team on a full-time basis. 

Job Role:
Our client is well known and highly respected private company initially achieved huge success in both construction and hospitality, the group has developed and expanded throughout a number of fields. A Quantity Surveyor is now required to join the Construction business, managing costs related to various projects from initial calculations to the final costings. 

Responsibilities:

• Estimating Cost of Works
• Procurement advice
• Preparation of Bill of Quantities
• Cost analysis for project works
• Assisting in understanding client requirements and undertaking feasibility studies
• Performing value management and cost control
• Preparation and filing of tenders; analysing costings for tenders
• Providing advice on contractual claims
• Certifying payments to suppliers and contractors
• Feasibility studies of client requests
• Dispute resolution by liaising with Commercial Manager
• Designing plans using computer-aided design and drafting (CAD) software
• Performing site surveys
• Preparing detailed work progress reports
• Measuring and valuing works, compiling take-offs, and drawing up draft certificates of payment using technology provided by the Company
• Understanding the implications of health and safety laws and regulations
• Assisting general Contract Management
• Compiling and submitting variations and assisting with commercial issues
• Organising project documentation.

Requirements:

• A minimum qualification level of Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• Excellent Excel and AutoCAD skills
• Outstanding communication and report-writing skills
• Must have good experience in minimizing costs on building projects
• Enhancing value for money whilst still achieving the required standards and quality
