M&E Draughtsperson

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates and manage construction expenses for projects.
• Understand project requirements and identify key cost variables.
• Gather on-site and warehouse data to inform estimates.
• Conduct research on labor, materials, and production times.
• Use software for budgeting, forecasting, and data analysis.
• Review and evaluate offers or quotes from subcontractors and vendors.
• Perform risk assessments related to costs.
• Submit cost estimate reports or bids to project managers, clients, or bidding competitions.
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and engineers.
• Provide planning consultations, including schedules and manpower needs.
• Analyze architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
• Compile a list of components for each project and assess cost implications of design changes.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations during construction site visits.

• Experience in project cost estimation, particularly in mechanical, electrical, or fuel-related industries.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to set deadlines.
