Position Summary:

The Marina Berthing Assistant is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the marina, specifically focusing on the safe and efficient berthing of vessels. This role includes customer service, general maintenance, and ensuring a positive experience for all marina guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vessel Berthing: Assist with the docking and mooring of vessels, ensuring all safety protocols are followed
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to marina guests, including answering inquiries, providing information about marina facilities, and assisting with reservations
  • Maintenance: Perform general maintenance tasks around the marina, including cleaning docks, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the marina area is tidy and safe
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with marina management and other team members to coordinate berthing schedules and resolve any issues
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all marina operations comply with safety regulations and environmental policies. Assist in emergency procedures as required
  • Administrative Duties: Assist with administrative tasks such as logging vessel arrivals and departures, processing payments, and updating records.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a marina, boating, or customer service environment is preferred
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle physical tasks and work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Knowledge: Basic understanding of boating and marina operations. Familiarity with safety procedures and emergency response protocols
  • Licenses/Certifications: Boating license or certification (if applicable). First Aid/CPR certification is a plus
  • Personal Attributes: Customer-focused, proactive, and able to work well both independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Environment: Outdoor work environment with exposure to various weather conditions
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
  • Hours: Flexible working hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.
