Malta International Airport plc is looking for a dynamic individual who is passionate about working with people within an Airport environment, is willing to continuously learn, develop, and be part of a high-performance culture. This vacancy has arisen within the Technical Projects department.

Purpose of Position:

To coordinate and oversee procurement activities for technical projects, ensuring optimal cost control, supplier performance, and adherence to project timelines and budgets. The role involves managing procurement strategies contracts, and inventory while in line with the company policies, collaborating with Project teams to meet operational and financial objectives effectively acting as a vital link between the Procurement Department & the Projects Department to ensure seamless integration of resources and objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Align procurement activities with project budgets, timelines, and financial objectives.
  • Collaborating with the Procurement department to conduct market research and identify competitive rates & services to ensure the best value for money.
  • Conduct pre-qualification technical assessments for Bills of Quantities (BOQs) before tender awards or equivalent processes.
  • Track and expedite orders in coordination with suppliers and project teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Work closely with Project Managers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Conduct inspections and audits on suppliers to ensure quality assurance.
  • Discuss with the Procurement department to identify opportunities for continuous improvement management processes.
  • Implement best practices and industry standards to optimize project purchasing and resource management.

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in procurement and purchasing.
  • Experience leading a team.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement software and tools.
  • Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
