Storekeeper

Our client is a leading retail company in Malta, offering a wide range of products and solutions for the home. They are looking for a reliable and organised Storekeeper to join their warehouse and logistics team and support the efficient handling, storage, and distribution of stock.

Position Summary

The Storekeeper will be responsible for receiving, storing, handling, and dispatching goods while maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring high standards of safety and organisation within the warehouse. The role also involves preparing stock for store replenishment and customer collections.

Key Responsibilities

Goods Receiving and Dispatch

• Load and unload stock safely and efficiently.
• Inspect goods upon receipt and report any discrepancies, damages, or shortages.
• Ensure all incoming and outgoing goods are accurately recorded according to company procedures.
• Prepare and release items for customer collections accurately and efficiently.

Stock Handling and Storage

• Store products in an orderly, accessible, and clearly labelled manner.
• Ensure goods are handled and stored according to company quality and safety standards.
• Maintain an organised warehouse and support improvements to storage layouts where required.

Inventory Control

• Update the inventory management system accurately for all goods received and issued.
• Ensure stock is correctly allocated to the designated storage areas.
• Assist with stock takes and periodic inventory counts.
• Report stock discrepancies or irregularities to the Supervisor promptly.

Health, Safety, and Housekeeping

• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment.
• Follow all company procedures and health and safety standards.
• Practise safe lifting and handling techniques when moving goods.
• Report any hazards, risks, or incidents immediately to the Supervisor.

Customer and Internal Service

• Assist retail staff with stock requests in a professional and timely manner.
• Handle customer collections courteously and efficiently.
• Ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately.
• Maintain a respectful and cooperative approach when dealing with customers and colleagues.

Teamwork and Development

• Support colleagues with daily warehouse operations when required.
• Participate in training programmes to improve operational knowledge and efficiency.
• Carry out other reasonable duties assigned by the Supervisor according to business requirements.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, stockroom, or storekeeping role will be considered an advantage.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle stock accurately and responsibly.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual handling and lifting duties safely.
• Reliable, responsible, and able to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays, according to operational requirements.
