Job Summary
The Storekeeper is responsible for the efficient operation of the company's stores by receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and maintaining accurate records of materials, tools, equipment, and consumables. The role ensures that stock is properly controlled, readily available when required, and stored safely in accordance with company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
• Receive deliveries and verify that quantities and specifications match purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Inspect incoming goods for damage or discrepancies and report any issues promptly.
• Organise and maintain the store to ensure materials are stored safely and can be easily located.
• Issue materials, tools, and equipment to authorised personnel and maintain accurate issue records.
• Monitor stock levels and notify the Procurement Department when replenishment is required.
• Conduct regular stock counts and assist with periodic inventory audits.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using the company's inventory or ERP system.
• Label and identify stock items correctly.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and cleanliness of the stores at all times.
• Safeguard company assets by maintaining secure storage procedures.
• Coordinate with the Purchasing and Logistics departments regarding deliveries and stock availability.
• Prepare reports on stock movements, shortages, damaged items, and obsolete materials.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and health and safety procedures.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials when required.
• Perform any other duties related to store operations as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience
• Secondary level education or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a Storekeeper, Warehouse Assistant, or Inventory Controller is preferred.
• Forklift licence (if applicable) is considered an asset.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
