Storekeeper

Position Overview:

The Storekeeper will be responsible for the efficient storage, handling, and distribution of food products. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to food safety standards, and effective communication with the operations and sales teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, inspect, and record deliveries of stock.

• Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in the warehouse.

• Ensures that stock is correctly labelled, organized, and rotated.

• Coordinate with the purchasing and sales teams regarding inventory levels, stock discrepancies, and product availability.

• Pick, and prepare orders for distribution to clients.

• Oversee proper storage conditions, ensuring compliance with food safety standards (e.g., temperature control, hygiene practices).

• Manage stock replenishment and ensure that orders are fulfilled on time.

• Operate forklifts or other warehouse machinery when necessary.

• Keep the warehouse clean, safe, and organized at all times.

• Report on any stock issues, damages or soon to expire goods

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Storekeeper, Warehouse Associate, or in a similar role.

• Familiarity with food safety and hygiene standards.

• Basic computer skills.

• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

• Physical ability to lift and move items.

• Forklift certification.

Qualifications:

• School leaving certificate and any 3 O-levels.

• 2+ years of experience in a warehouse or storekeeper role, preferably in food distribution.

• Knowledge of ERP or warehouse management systems is an advantage.

Working Conditions:

• Full-time position with regular working hours.

• May require extra working hours during peak periods.

• Must be able to work in a temperature-controlled environment (e.g., cold storage for certain food products).
