Purchasing Expert

Our client is looking for a Purchasing Expert to lead the Purchasing Department.

Responsibilities: 

• Procuring Material, Repair and Operational materials and supplies
• Engaging in cost-cutting measures, either by streamlining internal operations or interacting with suppliers
• Working daily with suppliers to ensure timely material supply, monitoring statuses, and comparing supplies to orders
• Dealing with under, over, and damaged orders as well as non-supplied items
• Leading discussions for the supply of goods and services in accordance with internal policies by interacting with the suppliers
• Involvement in contract management and supplier selection
• Supplier master data management and supporting vendor qualification activities are required within the pharmaceutical industry
• Interacting with regional or corporate departments to report on business KPIs

Working hours for this role are normal office hours from Monday to Friday with an element of flexibility being offered to the right candidate

• Strong communication skills in both Maltese and English
• Must have excellent leadership skills
• Able to lead and motivate team and proven experience in management
• Keen eye for details with strong negotiating, analytical and decision-making skills

• Tertiary level of education in Supply Chain, Business Administration or a relevant field
• Proven experience in a similar role
• Candidates with previous experience from a pharmaceutical industry will be given preference
