Procurement Officer

Our client operating primarily within the healthcare and catering industries is looking for a Procurement Officer. The roles and responsibilities will include: 

• Conduct research, evaluate, and select suppliers based on cost, quality, and service.
• Issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) based on approved departmental requirements for goods or services.
• Compile technical and commercial proposal evaluations.
• Assist in negotiating contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers.
• Process purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Liaise with relevant departments to address procurement needs.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and suppliers.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and industry regulations.
• Promptly resolve any issues or discrepancies by escalating them with suppliers.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend improvements.
• Manage supplier performance to assess and enhance their service quality.
• Prepare necessary reports for analytical purposes.

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday - 8AM - 5PM 

• Proven experience as a Purchasing Officer, Buyer, or in a similar role.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Knowledge of supply chain management and procurement best practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Keen attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Maltese.
