We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Procurement Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with the procurement process and ensuring that all purchases are made in a timely and cost-effective manner. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and analytical skills, as well as the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the procurement process by researching and identifying potential suppliers
  • Obtain quotes and negotiate prices with suppliers
  • Generate and process Purchase Orders for other operational departments.
  • Verify accuracy of orders including item descriptions, quantities and pricing in line to the supplier price lists provided by the Cost Controller
  • Record and analyse all transfers between departments ensuring that the correct items are being selected, processed and delivered
  • Create and maintain purchase orders and contracts 
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders as needed
  • Coordinate with other departments such as warehouse staff to ensure timely delivery of goods and services
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases and payments
  • Work hand in hand with the Cost Controller to implement cost saving initiatives
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies with suppliers
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends and market conditions to ensure competitive pricing

 

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and inventory management software
  • Detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate records
  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles
  • Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with other departments.

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field is preferred
  • Proven experience in procurement or purchasing of at least 1 or 2 years
