PO & Warehouse Leader

Job Description
Michael Debono Ltd in Malta is looking to recruit a PO & Warehouse Leader to join their team on a full-time basis. 

Michael Debono Ltd (MDL) is part of the Debono Group, a multifaceted group of companies with a keen focus on the mobility sector. The product offering is composed of passenger and commercial vehicles, motorbikes, vehicle parts and accessories, and aftersales services. The company also offers consumers a range of consumer finance solutions to fund the acquisition of their vehicles.

The Position:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the PO & Warehouse Leader will be responsible for:  

• Purchases supplies, materials, and parts for the company;
• Maintains knowledge of trends, prices, buyers, and delivery conditions to anticipate future material availability; directs purchasing programs accordingly;
• Develops and maintains inventory databases;
• Negotiates and completes contracts with vendors for optimal cost and delivery times;
• Reviews purchase orders and contracts for compliance with company and departmental policies;
• Collaborates with sales and customer service, to maximize efficiency in the purchasing and inventory control department;
• Communicates with suppliers to resolve problems that may arise regarding delivery, quality, price, or conditions of sale;
• Develops and implements policies and procedures related to purchasing and inventory control with a goal to maximize efficiency and optimize workflow;
• Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures;
• Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols;
• Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system;
• Trains, motivates, and monitors the performance of all PO and Warehouse employees;
• Directs and schedules the work of all PO and Warehouse employees;
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The Requirements: 

• Experience in a similar logistical role;
• Familiar/passionate about cars;
• A clean police conduct and driving license;
• Knowledge of Maltese traffic legislations;
• Excellent leadership, communication, and time management skills;
• Solid knowledge of People Management.
