Our client, a leading local aviation company, is looking to recruit a Junior Procurement Manager to join their growing team. Reporting to the head of the department, the chosen candidate will be responsible to:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies to streamline operations and achieve organizational goals.
  • Assist in setting personal and team targets, identify training needs, and evaluate team performance.
  • Collaborate with departments to identify procurement needs and specifications, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify potential suppliers and products, evaluating their suitability and competitiveness.
  • Participate in supplier evaluation and selection processes, ensuring high-quality partnerships.
  • Maintain relationships with key suppliers, manage their performance, and ensure contractual compliance.
  • Resolve supply-related issues and disputes promptly to maintain uninterrupted operations.
  • Implement and maintain effective inventory control measures to optimize stock levels.
  • Process purchase orders accurately and ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to track and expedite orders as required.
  • Analyze pricing proposals, negotiate prices with suppliers, and monitor procurement costs to meet budgetary constraints.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities and efficient procurement strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, including contracts, purchase orders, and invoices.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on procurement activities and expenses for management review.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in procurement and store management.
  • Implement best practices and industry standards to optimize procurement operations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as operations, finance, and quality assurance to align procurement processes.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers to convey requirements and resolve issues efficiently.
Skill-sets and Requirements
  • Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement.
  • Experience leading a team.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement software and tools.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or inventory management.
