Inspire in Malta is currently looking to recruit an Occupational Therapist to join their team on a temporary basis.

General Scope & Purpose of Position:

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our new project at our Ghajnsielem, Gozo premises. This role will be for a definite period between January to April 2025 (a total of 130 hours). The candidate must already have sensory integration training since this role requires conducting assessments and interventions for children aged 4 to 13 years, helping them develop essential daily living and learning skills.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive sensory integration assessments for children, utilizing standardized tools and observational methods
  • Analyze assessment results to identify sensory processing challenges and their impact on daily activities and learning
  • Develop individualized intervention plans based on assessment findings, focusing on enhancing sensory processing, motor skills, and functional abilities
  • Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and educators to ensure a holistic approach to each child’s development
  • Deliver direct therapy sessions using evidence-based sensory integration techniques
  • Create engaging and developmentally appropriate activities that promote sensory exploration and skill acquisition
  • Adjust intervention strategies as needed based on ongoing evaluations and feedback from parents and educators
  • Regularly monitor and document each child’s progress towards their goals
  • Provide guidance and support to families regarding sensory integration strategies that can be implemented at home
  • Conduct workshops or informational sessions for parents and educators to raise awareness about sensory processing and its effects on learning and behavior
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss progress and share insights on best practices. 

Prior to being recruited and throughout the duration of employment, the selected candidates need to satisfy the requirements of the Protection of Minors Act (POMA) together with those of immunization.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Master’s degree (equivalent to MQF Level 7) in Occupational Therapy
  • Must be in possession of CPCM registration in Malta
  • Specialized training in Sensory Integration Therapy
  • Experience working with children, particularly in a school or clinical setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with children and families.
