Inspire Foundation in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Nurse to join their team on a full-time basis.

About Us:
Inspire is a leading NGO in Malta helping hundreds of individuals with various disabilities to achieve their full potential, as we believe that everyone has a right to equality and inclusion.
We do this by providing individuals and their families with educational, therapeutic and leisure services. We also advocate for inclusion, educate the public and raise awareness among peers.

General Scope and Purpose of Position:
The nurse shall support tutors and caregivers in meeting the needs of both children and adults within the disability sector.
The primary objective is to enhance the well-being of clients by delivering top-notch nursing care throughout their tenure at Inspire.
The Nurse will also administer nursing interventions to staff, volunteers, or clients/members of Inspire as needed and when warranted.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To know, understand and monitor the client’s condition during their attendance at the organisation and assess their needs to provide the best possible care
  • Observe and interpret any symptoms that might indicate deterioration in the patient’s condition and communicate them to the programme manager, parents and doctor
  • Be responsible for the upkeep of any medical records and client journals
  • Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for the clients and their families
  • Have excellent knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures to maintain, a safe and clean environment
  • Be able to identify any medical apparatus/resources required. This apparatus will fall directly under the candidate’s responsibility
  • Perform routine procedures (Give medication, blood pressure measurements, administer injections etc.) and fill in clients’ charts
  • Adjust and administer patient’s medication and provide treatments according to doctor’s orders
  • Liaise with the parents regarding the client’s health
  • Work in collaboration with and alongside the tutors and carers offering advice as required
  • Create learning opportunities for the staff and parents of clients in the programmes, through health education workshops, health promotion, case- studies, lectures, research etc
  • Provide routine personal care and hygiene support to clients according to the exigencies of the programmes
  • Maintain and improve personal and professional knowledge and competence as appropriate.


Qualification Requirements:

  • Possess a Bachelor of Science MQF Level 6 or Diploma MQF Level 5 in Nursing
  • Registered with the Council for Nurses and Midwives
  • At least 1 year experience as a registered nurse
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word programs would be considered an asset
  • Highly proficient in English language (both spoken & written).


Before being recruited and throughout employment, the selected candidates need to satisfy the requirements of the Protection of Minors Act (POMA) together with those of immunisation.
