Skilled Gypsum Installer

Job Summary

The Skilled Gypsum Installer is responsible for the installation, finishing, and repair of gypsum board systems, suspended ceilings, drywall partitions, and decorative gypsum features in residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The role requires advanced knowledge of gypsum installation techniques, the ability to interpret construction drawings, and the capability to deliver high-quality finishes while meeting project deadlines and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications and project plans.
• Measure, mark, cut, and install gypsum boards, drywall panels, and ceiling systems accurately.
• Install metal stud framing, partitions, bulkheads, shaft walls, and suspended ceilings.
• Apply joint tape, joint compounds, corner beads, and finishing materials to achieve smooth surfaces.
• Construct decorative gypsum features, including bulkheads, cornices, niches, and custom ceiling designs.
• Repair damaged gypsum board systems and carry out renovation works as required.
• Ensure proper alignment, leveling, and finishing of all installations.
• Coordinate with supervisors, site engineers, and other trades to ensure efficient workflow.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations on site.
• Identify and resolve installation issues while maintaining quality standards.
