Our client in the Maritime industry is looking for a Mechanical Foreman. The chosen candidate would be responsible for coordinating and supervising mechanical activities carried out onboard vessels and within shipyard facilities during ship repair, maintenance, and refit projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and supervise mechanical repair, maintenance, and installation activities.
  • Lead teams of mechanics, fitters, and specialized technicians.
  • Monitor work progress and ensure compliance with project schedules and milestones.
  • Supervise maintenance, overhaul, repair, and replacement of mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Coordinate activities involving engines, pumps, compressors, valves, auxiliary systems, and other shipboard machinery.
  • Ensure compliance with technical procedures, work instructions, and quality requirements.
  • Support planning and execution of dry-docking and refit activities.
  • Coordinate with clients, surveyors, classification societies, and project teams when required.
  • Manage tools, equipment, and workforce assigned to mechanical operations.
  • Promote and enforce health, safety, and environmental standards.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in marine mechanical maintenance and ship repair.
  • Previous supervisory experience in shipyard or industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of marine machinery and shipboard mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and mechanical documentation.
  • Experience with ship repair, refit, and dry-docking projects.
  • Knowledge of shipyard safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under deadlines.
