General Labourer

Position Summary

The General Labourer supports construction site operations by carrying out manual tasks, assisting skilled trades, and ensuring sites are maintained in a safe and organised condition. The role is essential in supporting daily construction activities and ensuring project efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist skilled workers such as masons, carpenters, electricians, and machine operators on-site.
• Carry out general manual labour including loading, unloading, and moving materials.
• Prepare construction sites by cleaning, organising, and setting up tools and equipment.
• Support excavation, demolition, and basic construction activities as required.
• Operate basic hand tools and assist with power tools under supervision.
• Ensure site cleanliness and assist with waste removal and material disposal.
• Follow all health & safety regulations and wear required protective equipment.
• Support delivery and distribution of materials across the site.
• Carry out any other duties as assigned by site supervisors or foremen.

Requirements

• Previous experience in construction or manual labour is considered an asset.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor environments.
• Basic understanding of construction site safety procedures.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Good physical fitness and stamina.
• Flexibility to work shifts and overtime when required.
