Cleaner

The Convenience Shop in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Cleaner to join their team on a full-time basis.

Brief description of overall responsibility:

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated full-time Cleaner to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in an open-plan office building and a ground-floor convenience shop. The ideal candidate will ensure that all areas are kept clean, sanitized, and well-maintained to provide a safe and pleasant environment for employees and customers.

Responsibilities and functions: 

Office Cleaning Tasks

• Dust and wipe down all surfaces, including desks, chairs, and other furniture
• Vacuum carpets and mop hard floors
• Empty and clean waste bins, ensuring proper waste disposal and recycling
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and mirrors; replenish supplies as needed (soap, toilet paper, paper towels)
• Clean glass surfaces, including doors, and partitions
• Maintain cleanliness in communal areas such as kitchens, break rooms, and meeting rooms
• Monitor and clean high-touch areas regularly (e.g., door handles, light switches)
• Clean other equipment prone to dust accumulation
• Conduct thorough cleaning of office equipment such as telephones, keyboards, and monitors.

Convenience Shop Cleaning Tasks

• Sweep and mop the shop floor
• Dust and wipe down all surfaces
• Clean and sanitize customer-facing areas, including counters, payment terminals, and entrance doors
• Empty and clean waste bins, ensuring proper disposal
• Clean and sanitize restrooms
• Ensure the entrance, windows, and any external areas are free from litter and debris.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in offices/retail cleaning is preferred
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude
• Physically fit and able to perform repetitive tasks, including lifting and bending
• Excellent customer service skills and work ethics.
