Category Product Food Technologist

As a Category Product Food Technologist you will be based in Malta and you will be responsible for developing and optimising product recipes in new product development projects while also assisting with other related projects, as well as acting as the main link to factory support on product operation level. Your duties will include the following but not limited too:  

• Developing new recipes and ensuring proper capturing of project briefs, competition bench marking complying with quality, food safety, regulatory and cost requirements in line with the R&D project pipeline 
• Defining Manufacturing recipes, parameters, in-process control and finished product specifications to ensure a successful product launch in line with the R&D Prototype Approval 
• Leading factory scale up trials and ensuring a successful outcome - testing and reporting as per standard protocols 
• Specifying product requirements, ensuring correct packaging identification 
• Ensuring the development of new/alternate raw materials specifications while executing an alternate raw material supplier program 
• Managing recipe, ingredients and process changes through the Change Control Program 
• Offering technical leadership - providing technical support, keeping abreast with the science industry and innovations, performing trials, developing robust product specifications and other related duties

• 5 years minimum experience in Product Development
• IT Savvy
• Professional level of English - written and verbal
• Good level of report writing
• Organised and a good planner
• Target focused with an innovative mindset
• Approachable with good leadership skills

• Master Degree in Food Technology / Food Science
• PHD level of Education will be considered a plus
