We are seeking a results-driven and strategic Food Service Sales Manager to lead & grow our food service operations. This senior management role requires full responsibility for the division’s performance, strategic growth, client relationship management, team development & leadership. This includes:
• Develop a comprehensive sales and distribution strategy to generate growth & maximise sales opportunities
• Organise, motivate, and manage a team of sales representatives and liaise with senior management to reach and exceed performance targets
• Be on the lookout for new talent, participate in hiring and training of new personnel within the food service sales department
• Organise product training sessions where necessary to develop a knowledgeable sales force
• Continuously monitoring for potential training requirements in addition to supervising, motivating, and developing the Sales team
• Oversee debtor ageing analysis and ensure timely payment collection is followed, taking effective action as necessary
• Participate in preparation of pricing strategies and monitor margins & feasibility over time
• Identify and capitalise on new sales and business opportunities
• Identify market trends and opportunities for growth in the food service sector
• Aid in the market penetration & development of product portfolio
• Plan & execute promotional and sales initiatives as required for product development and penetration
• Develop and maintain strong client relations & implement market strategies to increase market share
• Evaluate client performance & product performance and implement corrective measures where necessary
• Ensure efficient sales coverage & sales route structure
• Oversee stock management including stock levels, turnover, shrinkage, and expiry control
• Liaise with the purchasing department to ensure optimal product availability while minimising excess and obsolete stock
• Prepare & review regularly performance reports and discuss with senior management by providing an insight into the data presented and making recommendations for improvement
• Monitor food service sales representatives’ individual performance, conduct monthly and annual performance reports & reviews, and provide feedback to management together with plans for development
• Collect Market Information & conduct competitor analysis
Requirements:
• Proven senior leadership experience in Malta within the food service, FMCG, or a related commercial sector
• Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth, achieving targets, brand management and margin improvement
• Strong negotiation, customer management, and relationship-building skills
• Ability to identify market opportunities, new trends and drive product growth in a competitive market
• Strong analytical and strategic planning capabilities
• A hands-on, results-oriented leadership style
• A proactive mindset with a strong focus on continuous improvement
• Self-driven individual who can work with minimal supervision and proactively solve problems in a fast-paced sales environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and sales management tools.
• Excellent communication and decision-making skills
