About the Function
The Supervisory Quality Assurance function acts as a key contributor in the development of a quality-focused culture across the functions that fall within scope of its remit. As part of the Second Line of Defence, the function’s primary activities focus on the review of processes being followed by such functions within scope, with the aim of safeguarding and enhancing the quality of their processes and activities, as well as of the resultant deliverables.
In this regard, SQA places emphasis on ensuring that consistency, effectiveness, efficiency and timeliness of the relevant processes and outputs are achieved to the greatest possible extent across the board. The function is also responsible for identifying emerging risks and deficiencies in the internal supervisory processes and offer recommendations to address shortcomings. Supervisory Quality Assurance ultimately provides assurance to management that the Authority’s processes and deliverables are aligned with international best practice and European Supervisory Authority standards, as well as with the Authority’s Strategic Priorities.

About You
We are looking for candidates with experience within the financial sector, preferably within supervisory roles and / or with a background in auditing.
The role calls for an academic qualification in a relevant field of study at National Qualification Framework Level 6 or better, duly certified by the Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC) or a widely recognised professional qualification at a comparable level.
You will also possess a minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience. Candidates with longer working experience relevant to the role will be preferred.
If you do not have the necessary academic or professional qualifications but you have at least 10 years of relevant experience, we would still be interested in speaking with you.

It is the responsibility of applicants in possession of qualifications awarded by Universities and other similar institutions outside Malta to produce a recognition statement on comparability of qualifications issued by the Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC). Applicants should do so preferably at application stage or otherwise at the preliminary interview should an applicant be selected for such interview.
