Site Project Manager (Mechanical and Electrical)

Job Description
Mike Farrugia Contractors Ltd in Malta is looking to recruit a Site Project Manager to join their team on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be expected to efficiently manage the day-to-day site operations of a team of tradesmen of around 12 to 16 personnel.

Job duties and responsibilities:

• Overlook a team of electrical and mechanical tradesmen employed on the company’s clients’ sites on a day-to-day basis.
• Keep good relations and manage sub-contractors efficiently on the company’s sites.
• Manage and liaise communication between the operations manager, technical office, and materials supply chains.
• Establish good communication skills with all subordinates, clients, consultant engineers, etc., employed on each of the company’s sites.
• Attend site meetings regularly with clients, site engineers, or architects to resolve issues and plan ahead.
• Monitor projects and ensure quality, good workmanship, and efficiency on all of the company’s sites.
• Oversee that health and safety regulations are observed by all of the company’s employees.
• Record keeping of all the documentation related to the projects in hand including data to be processed by the operations manager when preparing payment applications
• Responsible for the procurement of materials to ensure timely delivery to sustain the efficiency of all the sites and control of the materials being consumed by the company employees.

Requirements:

• Be in possession of a wiremen’s licence;
• Possess at least 5 years of experience in a similar position in the electrical and mechanical installation field;
• Have a good sound knowledge of property and its infrastructure;
• Have a strong understanding of personnel and project management;
• Have the ability to lead and give technical instructions to the team;
• Take ownership of the tasks assigned to him and follow them through;
• Be target oriented;
• Have an eye for detail and good workmanship;
