Malta International Airport plc is looking for an experienced and dynamic individual who is passionate about working with people within an Airport environment, is willing to continuously learn, develop, and be part of a high-performance culture. This vacancy has arisen within the Projects Department.

Purpose of Position:

To act as Support Services to the PM Team and assist Management as may be required in the below-listed activities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Design Management duties

  • Communicate, collaborate and devise a project plan template to be employed within the Projects Department.
  • Create project plans for Stages I, II and III in collaboration with the respective project manager.
  • Adopt and update the Projects Master program as directed by management.
  • Review Contractor's programs and establish a common tracking mechanism for all project managers.
  • Establish an effective baseline change control mechanism.
  • Oversee and manage the design process, including reviewing design deliverables and developing standardized deliverables for Stages I and II with the PMs and external consultants.
  • Assist the Head of Projects in creating a harmonized Specification document for MIA projects and support Management in design meetings and critiques for major projects.
  • Help Management prepare RFQs for civil and architectural consultants, and handle RFQs for minor to medium-sized projects as needed.

Systems & Support Services

  • Create and implement standardized systems to manage company documents.
  • Champion and configure Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) for medium-sized and major projects.
  • Devise a training program for new employees and external users of the ACC system.
  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day requirements of the ACC system.
  • Create custom reports within the ACC system to inform management of ongoing projects.
  • Design and implement a new system for managing hard format project documentation.

Other Responsibilities

  • Develop standard specification documentation for projects without external consultants.
  • Review project drawings and confirm design intent.
  • Develop and roll-out a standard list of deliverables for consultants.
  • Assist management in conducting design meetings and preparing RFQ's.

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills

 

  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in a similar role;
  • Level of Education: MQF Level 6 (minimum)
  • Preference shall be given to those with experience in architectural design, civil engineering services and/or construction;
  • Very good analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills;
  • An ability to work unsupervised and work in multi-disciplinary teams;
  • Experience in the use of Autocad, Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office;
  • Able to work flexible hours;
  • A valid driving license;
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety & Environmental best practice.
