Med Media Services in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Television Playout and Scheduling Coordinator to join their team on a full-time basis.

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Television Playout System Specialist to join our growing team and play a critical role in shaping our broadcast operations.

Role Overview:

As the Television Playout System Specialist, you will oversee and manage the playout system to ensure flawless content delivery and optimised scheduling. You will collaborate with content producers, technical teams, and programming staff to organize, schedule, and monitor TV broadcasts. Your attention to detail and expertise in broadcast systems will ensure a high-quality viewing experience for our audience.

Key Responsibilities

Playout System Management:

  • Operate and maintain the playout system, ensuring smooth and accurate broadcasting of scheduled content
  • Organize, upload, and verify media files in the playout system to ensure readiness for air
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to the playout system, collaborating with IT and engineering teams when needed
  • Identify gaps in scheduling and highlight to editorial team content type/duration adjustments that may be required for timing and scheduling purposes.

Scheduling & Optimization:

  • Develop and optimise daily, weekly, and monthly schedules to balance content flow, maximise audience engagement, and meet strategic objectives
  • Schedule advertisements, promotions, and interstitials to comply with programming and advertising requirements, in line with applicable legislation
  • Manage last-minute schedule changes with precision, ensuring minimal disruptions.

Content Coordination:

  • Liaise with content producers to ensure all media files meet technical and formatting and time specifications/requirements before airing
  • Maintain a comprehensive content library, categorizing and archiving materials efficiently
  • Coordinate closely with the editorial and marketing teams to align programming schedules with brand strategy and campaigns.

Compliance & Quality Control:

  • Monitor on-air programming to ensure adherence to technical standards and broadcast regulations
  • Conduct quality checks on media files to ensure proper audio/video sync, resolution, and file integrity
  • Maintain accurate logs of playout activities and generate reports for internal reviews or audits.

Key Skills & Requirements:

  • Proven experience in managing television playout systems and/or experience working with content management systems
  • Strong understanding of broadcast workflows, file formats, and technical specifications
  • Proficiency in scheduling software and playout automation tools
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
  • Keen attention to detail and a proactive problem-solving mindset
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of broadcast compliance and content regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Media, Broadcasting, or a related field
  • Previous experience in a TV channel or broadcast operations environment
  • Familiarity with the Mediterranean region’s culture, lifestyle, and tourism industry is a bonus.
