Hilton Malta is currently looking to recruit a Director of Operations to join their team on full-time basis.

Location: Hilton Malta, St. Julian's, Malta

Reports to: Cluster General Manager

Department: Operations

Position Summary:

The Director of Operations at Hilton Malta will play a pivotal role in overseeing the hotel's day-to-day operations, ensuring the highest standards of service, quality, and efficiency. This leadership position requires a strategic and hands-on approach, driving operational excellence across all operational departments, Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Drink, Health Club, Security and Engineering. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of luxury hospitality, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to exceeding guest expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership:
    • Oversee the overall hotel operations, ensuring alignment with Hilton's global standards and the specific requirements of Hilton Malta
    • Collaborate with department heads to ensure smooth, efficient, and cohesive operations across all functions
    • Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of operational strategies.
  • Guest Experience:
    • Champion the guest experience by ensuring that all services meet or exceed Hilton's luxury standards
    • Analyse guest feedback and work with teams to implement continuous improvements to enhance guest satisfaction
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with VIP guests, ensuring personalised and exceptional service.
  • Team Development and Management:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback and development plans
    • Oversee recruitment, training, and retention strategies to ensure a talented and motivated workforce.
  • Financial Performance:
    • Work closely with the Finance department to develop and manage the operational budget, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising quality
    • Identify opportunities for revenue enhancement and cost control, optimising profitability
    • Analyse financial reports and implement corrective actions as necessary to achieve financial targets.
  • Health, Safety, and Compliance:
    • Ensure that all operations comply with local regulations, Hilton policies, and industry standards regarding health, safety, and environmental sustainability
    • Implement and monitor safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff.
  • Innovation and Improvement:
    • Drive operational innovation by identifying and implementing new technologies, processes, and services that enhance efficiency and guest satisfaction.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends and incorporate best practices into Hilton Malta’s operations.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in hotel operations, with at least 5 years in a senior management role within a luxury hotel or resort environment.
    • Proven track record of successfully managing multi-departmental operations with a focus on guest satisfaction and financial performance.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and manage large teams.
    • Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and delegate effectively
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English. Proficiency in Maltese or another European language is an advantage
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement
    • Proficiency in hotel management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
