Operations Supervisor

MStream Ltd., a leader in sustainable waste management solutions, is seeking a reliable and seasoned Operations Supervisor to join our team. Our mission is to handle and process recyclable materials—specifically PET, glass, and aluminium—while reducing environmental impact and promoting a circular economy.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Supervision & Support

• Oversee the two operators working on remote sites
• Assign daily tasks and priorities
• Monitor performance and productivity
• Step in and assist physically when the workload requires it
• Provide on-the-job guidance and basic training

2. Field Operations (Hands-On Work)

• Participate directly in loading/unloading containers when needed
• Ensure correct handling of materials/equipment
• Troubleshoot operational issues on-site
• Fill in for absent operators if required

3. Container Loading Oversight

• Supervise container loading to ensure efficiency and safety
• Check that loads are properly secured and balanced
• Verify quantities, documentation, and the condition of goods
• Coordinate timing to avoid delays or bottlenecks
• Trained forklift operator

4. Site Coordination

• Act as the main point of contact between sites and management
• Coordinate schedules between different locations
• Ensure operators arrive on time and are properly equipped
• Communicate any delays, issues, or incidents quickly

5. Safety & Compliance

• Enforce health and safety procedures
• Conduct basic safety checks before and during operations
• Ensure proper use of PPE and equipment
• Report and document incidents or near misses

6. Reporting & Documentation

• Provide daily/weekly updates to management
• Track work completed, hours, and productivity
• Report equipment issues or maintenance needs
• Keep records of container movements and operations

7. Problem Solving

• Handle unexpected issues on-site (delays, staff shortages, equipment problems)
• Make quick decisions to keep operations running smoothly
• Escalate major issues when necessary

8. Equipment & Resource Management

• Ensure tools and equipment are available and in good condition
• Coordinate basic maintenance or repairs
• Monitor usage to avoid misuse or downtime

The ideal candidate must be able to communicate in English, preferably also in Maltese. They must be reliable and willing to ensure that the technical team operates smoothly. Reporting to the General Manager, they must also provide support in the daily operations. Local driver’s licence B & C1 is a must-have.
