We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Social Media Specialist to manage and grow the social media presence of our television station. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating engaging content, scheduling posts, and interacting with our audience across all social media platforms. 

They will work closely with our marketing and production teams to ensure consistent brand messaging and audience engagement. A strong understanding of social media trends, analytics, and platform-specific best practices is essential. This role requires excellent communication skills and a passion for television and digital media.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Development: Devise and implement a robust social media strategy to boost brand visibility, engagement, and viewer conversion, with a focus on Mediterranean-related content.
  • Content Creation: Manage our social media platforms (including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube) by curating, creating, and posting compelling content that captivates and grows our audience.
  • Visual Engagement: Design and produce eye-catching visuals—graphics, images, and videos—to enhance our social media presence and drive follower growth.
  • Community Management: Actively monitor, engage, and respond to comments, messages, and queries, fostering a strong, loyal community.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to produce content that highlights key team activities, events, and other newsworthy topics that will resonate with our audience.
  • Performance Monitoring: Provide detailed reports on key metrics (impressions, reach, engagement, etc.) to gauge content effectiveness and guide future strategy.
  • Campaign Management: Coordinate with the Marketing team to review and optimise ongoing campaigns, making data-driven decisions on their continuation or closure.
  • Traffic and Conversion Tracking: Monitor referral traffic and conversions to ensure our social media efforts are translating into measurable results.

About You:

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written proficiency in English.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years in a similar role, preferably within the television or Tourism industry.
  • Proactive Mindset: You are motivated, dedicated, and eager to make an impact in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven Expertise: Demonstrated success in managing social media initiatives and growing online communities.
  • Creativity: You have a knack for thinking outside the box, generating innovative ideas to boost engagement.
  • Trend Awareness: A keen interest in staying up to date with the latest trends and best practices in social media marketing.
  • Social Media SEO: you have familiarity with SEO optimization for social media.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of proven experience as a Social Media Specialist or Digital Marketing Specialist.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools.
  • Passion for staying informed about the latest social media trends and technologies.
  • Any Social Media Certification will be considered a plus.
