Sales Assistant (All Locations)

Lidl in Mallta is currently looking to recruit a Sales Assistant (All Locations) to join their team on a full/part-time basis.

We are currently looking for new employees in every shop on the island, offering different types of contracts to suit your needs (part-time and full-time).

What you'll do:
Our Sales Assistants are involved in a dynamic and young work environment, within a well-structured and organised Company. Working hours will be scheduled on a shift basis in advance (both part-time and full-time) and you will receive a training plan that enables you to deal with your duties efficiently.

You will not only be working on the cash, but you will also get involved in every part of the store’s operations, including stocking, cleaning, bakery operations, non-food merchandising, and everything needed to make sure our clients’ shopping experience is fast and comfortable.

The main duties will be:

• Team cooperation for excellent management of the store, assisting the Store Management with all areas of store operation
• Provide excellent customer service, not only on the cash registers but throughout the store by helping customers with their questions and locating items for them
• Ensure to offer the freshest of produce
• Unpack daily stock deliveries
• Help with stocking as well as preparing promotional items and special offers
• Cash management
• Ensure that the entire store is clean and organized, from the parking lot to the sales floor to the welfare room and warehouse.

What you'll need:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• The flexibility to work different shifts including night shifts, weekends and public holidays
• Professional and respectful attitude with customers and colleagues
• A friendly communication style with your team
• The drive to work hard in a fast-paced environment
• Fluent knowledge of the English language is a must
• Knowledge of the Maltese and Italian languages will be considered an asset
• Previous experience in the retail sector will be considered an asset.

Remuneration:

• Different options of contract are available: full-time, 40 hours per week, organized on 5 days (8 hours per day) or part-time, of a minimum of 25 hours per week, organized on 5 days (5 hours per day)
• Basic salary: starting from €7.67 per hour
• Any minutes worked over 40 hours per week are paid at time and a half;
• Sundays and public holidays are paid at double rate;
• Night shift allowance when applicable;
• Everything is paid by the minute!
